AIM SB1 Regulations
 
1. Regulations
 
  1. These regulations are specific to the AIM specifications SB1 and SS1, known as 'Superbikes'.
  2. SB1 bikes are production based supersport motorcycles with 4 cylinder 1000cc engines or 2 cylinder 1200cc engines.
  3. SS1 bikes are production based supersport motorcycles with 4 cylinder 600cc engines or 2 cylinder 850cc engines.
  4. All motorcycles are prepared by the AIM to specifications which equalize each bike.
  5. A maximum of 6 crew members may work on a single bike each race.
  6. Purposely manipulating the result of a race is strictly prohibited and will result in the exclusion of both bikes involved.
2. Wheels & Tires
  1. Tires will be supplied by the official tire supplier as designated by the AIM.
3. Fuel
  1. Fuel will be supplied by the official fuel supplier as designated by the AIM.
4. Identification
  1. Each bike will carry a number assigned by the AIM to it's rider at the beginning of the season.
  2. The champion rider from the previous season may carry the number 1 as an alternate if he wishes.
5. Scoring
  1. In order to be eligible for the riders, teams or manufacturers championship, all rounds of the championship must be fully participated in. Exception will be made for riders that are not medically fit to ride as determined by AIM Medical staff.
  2. In order to score riders points the rider must start and complete the entire race distance.
  3. The teams, manufacturers and nations championships score only their best finish each race, with all races counting to the final championship.
  4. Finishes that are not the highest in their team, manufacturer or nation are not scored. Example 1st - Canada, 2nd - Canada, 3rd - Mexico, Mexico receives 2nd place points.
  5. Points are awarded as follows from 1st to 8th:  20-16-12-10-8-6-4-2.
  6. If a race has completed 1/4 of it's scheduled distance and cannot be completed, half points are awarded in each championship.
  7. If a race has completed 1/2 of it's scheduled distance and cannot be completed, full points are awarded.
